While having nothing to do with Barbaro's family, I would be remiss if I didn't share my photos and video of this stunning filly.
Winter Memories was making her eighth career start of her short but so far remarkable career. She would be running in the Grade One Garden City Stakes at a distance of 1 1/8 miles on the inner turf at Belmont Park.
For those not familiar with the outcome of the race, I will write nothing more, just sit back and enjoy!
Winter Memories in the padddock prior to her race at Belmont Park. She does NOT like to be around other horses on race day, so, she had her own personal paddock, lol. Also, she is the first horse I have ever witnessed that got saddled while never stopping, quite a feat!

What a race!
I couldn't believe it. Winter Memories even lost ground for a while and was even last only to gain ground and win.
Even more strange, she had her own paddock and was saddled "on the move." I just have to watch the video once again if not more times.
This is truly amazing!

By the way, how is Margano? No photos of him in his last race? When is his next race?

ReplyDeleteLisa, Lennys is running tomorrow. If it was during the stretch, he had a hold on memories to try to get her in a position where he could get her to the outside, while the other fillies were being asked to run.
